GeoStack collects minimal information to provide our services:
- Email address — when you subscribe to the GEO tool roundup newsletter or submit a tool for review
- Tool submission data — name, website, tagline, and other data you provide when listing your tool
- Analytics data — anonymized usage statistics via standard web analytics (page views, referrers, device types)
- Cookies — for theme preference (light/dark) and no other tracking
2. How we use your information
We use collected information only to:
- Send the monthly GEO tool roundup newsletter (if subscribed)
- Process tool submissions and verify ownership
- Improve our service through anonymized analytics
- Remember your theme preference
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
3. Tool data and scoring
All tool data on GeoStack is based on publicly available information. We do not require login or access to private dashboards to rank a tool. Tools we haven't personally tested are marked "Based on public data" in their listings.
4. Embedded badges
Tools displaying our verification badge may receive a daily crawl of their public website to confirm the verification key is present. This crawl only checks the presence of the verification key and does not collect additional data.
5. Data retention
Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Tool submission data is retained while your tool is listed. Analytics data is anonymized and retained for up to 26 months.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold. Contact us at privacy@geostack.co to exercise these rights.
7. Changes to this policy
Material changes to this policy will be announced via the homepage banner and via email to subscribers.
